MISSION STATEMENT

The Texas Panhandle Art Education Association was founded with the purpose to enrich education through the arts and to stimulate the teaching of art as an integral part of the total curriculum throughout the Panhandle of Texas.  It provides opportunities for interaction and exchange between members of the association and to imbue the members with information from the state and national levels as it pertains to education.

The organization promotes art through vibrant community interaction that creates “real world” networks between students, educators, industry professionals and civic leaders in order to contribute and help nurture the creative and cultural ecology of the Panhandle.  TPAEA works to provide students the opportunities to exhibit and curate in professional galleries, work as interns within design firms and art institutions, as well as leading the way to proliferate art in the community through the public art and murals initiative with Snack Pak 4 Kids.

The Texas Panhandle Art Association is consistently working to promote the values and importance of the creative arts.  This year the affiliation has organized and partnered with Amarillo College to create IGNITE: Creative Arts Conference to help connect, educate and expand opportunities for high school students from across the Panhandle.  TPAEA also provides scholarships for students to pursue post-secondary degrees in the arts.
